It was a showdown for the ages in the men’s 300m hurdles Thursday (12 June) at the Diamond League meeting in Oslo.
The star-studded athletics field included all three Paris 2024 medallists from the 400m hurdles: American Rai Benjamin (gold), Norway’s Karsten Warholm (silver) and Brazil’s Alison dos Santos (bronze).
The race did not disappoint, with Warholm sprinting to a world best time, 32.67, to take the win. Benjamin’s 33.22 was a personal best and good for second. Dos Santos rounded out the podium once again in third, clocking a 33.88.
Warholm was out front early off the strength of his start, but at the turn it looked like Benjamin was in control.
Moments later, Warholm had his say about that, as he closed hard to catch up and pass the American.
