The largest running event in the world The Wings for Life World Run took place on Sunday (May 4, 2025).
A new record 310,719 participants of 191 different nationalities took part in the global event that supports finding a cure for spinal cord injury. This year marked the 12th edition of the race which took place in 170 countries and features a moving finish line called the Catcher Car which eventually brings each race to a close. Red Bull Head of Global Soccer Jurgen Klopp took part alongside other sporting icons such as surfing’s Carissa Moore and Norwegian hurdler Karsten Warholm.
Men's winner Jo Fukuda of Japan set a new distance record for the event by reaching 71.67 km with Germany’s Esther Pfeiffer reaching 59.03 km as she claimed the women’s title.
